Numbers That Tell the Story of a Life Well Lived

Once is a while we get an email or text from you that is just too overwhelmingly good not to share. And with your blessing, we do.  That is today.

Thank you for allowing us to be a "third room" for you...and a space that not only seems to bring you so much, but one that brings all of us instructors SO MUCH!

Seeing you day in and day out is an absolute joy. THANK YOU!

And Kristen.....thank you for boldly sharing.  If just ONE person read this and makes the decision to take one step towards improving their own health, then be so proud. Keep shining your light!!

Dear Meghan,
I’m sorry this is long but I have so much good to tell you.
Recently I had my annual physical. As you know, I have spent the last two years making my health and well being a priority, and Motivate has been a huge part of that. When I met you, I told you that I was going to come through a hard situation stronger and a better me.
Because of knowing you, and because of taking opportunities that used to feel scary to me (hello, double leg jumps onto a box?! Barre Class? Deadlifting with a 30 in each hand? Bounce and build? Pilates?) I have changed the way I relate to my body and move through the world.
I use my core (I HAVE a core to use!). I lift heavy things, and not just at the studio. I have muscles, good ones.
I fuel my body with lots of protein and veggies. I enjoy treats sometimes and then I’m right back to protein and veggies.

Okay but back to my doctor’s appointment.
My weight is down, even though I have clearly packed on pounds of muscle.
My overall cholesterol is down, and in a perfect range.
My HDL is higher than ever and my LDL is lower than ever.
My fasting blood sugar is well within normal (when it has always been at the very top of normal), and better than it has ever been, even in my 30s.
Every single blood test is perfect.
At age 58.
And my blood pressure: 98/60.
Resting heart rate: 52.

Yes I love that I am shopping for clothes two sizes smaller.
But the biggest win here is those numbers. Those numbers tell the story of a life well lived. Of showing myself care through nutrition, exercise, sleep, hydration, meditation, and community.
Thank you for inspiring me, and creating a community where I am always growing into my best self.

-Kristen
